The National Pickleball League – Season 4 kicked off on September 20th, 2025.

The National Pickleball League is Australia’s premier professional pickleball competition, featuring the top players across 12 teams in three states. Season 4 returns with a tightened format and a $125,000 Prize Pool.

12 Team Captains selected from around Australia & New Zealand

The 12 Team Captains select teams in a snake draft format. 

Draft Order  – drawn in the week prior to the draft. 

Virtual Draft (occurs ~6 weeks prior to Round 1 of each season)

  • A 3 round season will culminate with a Finals Weekend.
  • All 3 rounds will be played within the State.
  • The rounds will be spread over 2 months.
  • The finals will be held over 3 days as the state champions fight it out for the ultimate glory.

  • Top 4 Teams receive double chance
  • Night 1 – 3rd Place Playoff for Final 2 Teams
  • Day 1 – Qualifying, Elimination & Semi Finals
  • Day 2- Preliminary &  Grand Final

NPLeague Format

NPLeague showcases the best players in Australia across both Singles & Doubles disciplines.

Each match consist of 4 Sets & a Dill Breaker if required.

1st Set = Women’s Singles


1st Set = Women’s Singles

  • 2 separate singles games played by 2 individual players 
  • Team with 2 individual wins, wins the set.
  • If tied 1-1 both teams are awarded 0 sets.
  • Player 1 is top ranked singles DUPR player*
  • First to 11, traditional scoring, win by 2
  • Change ends at 6.

2nd Set = Gender Doubles

  • First to 22, win by 2, traditional scoring
  • 2 pairs per team
    • Pair 1 – first to 11
    • Pair 2 – continue to 22
    • Pair 2 will sub in once either team reaches 11
  • Change ends at 6 & 17

3rd Set = Men’s Singles

  • Same format as Women’s singles

4th Set = Mixed Doubles

  • First to 22, win by 2, traditional scoring
  • 2 pairs per team
    1. Pair 1 – first to 11
    2. Pair 2 – continue to 22
      1. Pair 2 will sub in once either team reaches 11
  • Captain selection for who plays in each pair. No restrictions.
  • Change ends at 6 & 17

DillBreaker (as required)

The DillBreaker is a unique tie-breaking set designed to decide the outcome of a match when the score is tied after the first four sets. 

    • First to 22, Rally Scoring, Win by 2
    • Pairs swap after 4 points
      1. Mixed 1 (this is the pair that finished the Mixed Doubles- Pair 2)
      2. Mixed 2
      3. Mens Singles 1
      4. Womens Singles 1
      5. Mens Doubles
      6. Womens Doubles
      7. Womens Singles 2
